If fashion and beauty are your thing, TikTok is about to look good on you. The "hip" social media platform has announced a new, exclusive push to support beauty creators. It will team up with the prestigious Estée Lauder on a program called "The Catalysts" to find the most promising influencers in the beauty world.

TikTok said, "Launching on Tuesday, June 25th, The Catalysts seeks to unearth the next big names in beauty, spotlighting a new generation of beauty innovators. With TikTok's help and a global community of creators invited to apply, the program will offer mentorship, financial and marketing support, and expert advice on building and scaling a beauty business."

So, how do you get in on this?

TikTok creators who are 21 or over will be invited to present ideas and business plans focusing on skincare, body care, hair care, makeup, and things that smell good (fragrance). Creators must then showcase their ability to tell a good story via the app.

"You must share a TikTok video explaining why you should win and Your Vision for Beauty, using the hashtag #JointheCatalysts," according to TikTok.

The whole thing is judged by a bunch of experts in the beauty industry, who will look at all of the entries and pick the lucky winners. Those winners will be awarded $250K and TikTok ad credits for their projects.

TikTok sees this as a great way to attract interest from beauty creators because it offers links into the industry, with expert support from some big names and brands. The project also helps boost awareness of influential beauty creators and guides brands to some big voices in the industry that they could want to connect with to boost TikTok awareness, making it a win/win.

Although questions remain about the future of TikTok in the U.S., the social media platform is still important for connecting with younger audiences. Even if it's banned in the U.S., it will still be available elsewhere, so the influence is going to remain.

The bottom line is that if you are making TikTok videos about being beautiful, this could be your chance to shine, so doll yourself up and get those cameras rolling.
